Pageantry has been an integral part of the American sense of beauty and community for centuries now after being championed by P.T Barnum, the greatest showman, in the form of a photo contest. However, something that started with a primary focus on external beauty is slowly and steadily moving towards an assessment of courage, confidence and personality.
In keeping with such traditions that emphasize hugely the importance of community, NABC 2023 has decided to host events around fashion and pageantry to celebrate the Bengali culture and its roots far away from home.
‘Bangasundari’ is a fashion show for women, while men will be competing in ‘Bangasri’. ‘Bangasundari’ has been divided into two sections- Section A for 18- 25 year-olds and Section B for women above the age of 25. The latter contest, on the other hand, has been divided into three sections- Section A for 18-35 year-olds, Section B for men above 35 years of age and, lastly, Section C, ‘Bangali Babu’ which is for middle-aged men with great sense of style and confidence and no required type of physique.

This group of events has been designed to be a very transformative opportunity for anyone ready to express themselves and leave their signature of uniqueness in the form of a unique presentation.
